antonio soares' illustration for Marc Jacobs spring/summer 2013 collection
This week's Painted Face edition comes from a piece by illustrator Antonio Soares. His work focuses so well on the makeup of his muse that I found this to be perfect for PF. This particular piece was inspired by the Marc Jacobs S/S '13 collection. I'm obsessed with his work now and can't wait to see his success blossom.

Makeup Photo a Day Eight: Date Night makeup

mollie booth parks, date night makeup, makeup tips, pink lips, winged eyeliner,
I haven't worn black liner in a while and decided it was perfect for a date with Nik. To change up my normal matte lip, I applied an uber shiny gloss first and let it sit to moisturize my pout. For the final touch I lightly layered a hot pink lipstick over. This is a way to wear lipstick without really looking like you are. It's a lighter way to apply and it's very sexy for a date :).

Makeup Photo a Day Seven: Matching Eye Color with Eyeshadow

green eyes makeup, makeup photo a day, matching eye color and eyeshadow, red hair,

I [unintentionally] matched my outer pupil color to my eyeshadow today. Pretty cool as it made my green/blue eyes look super greenish. I say there IS a way to match eye color and shadow without looking overdone.

Makeup Photo a Day Six: Pink Eyeshadow

makeup photo a day, pink eyeshadow, makeup tips, mollie booth parks

I had to take this after a 12 hour work day on set (I GOT TO DO BRUISES AND BLOOD GUYS) and that is the reason for my chipper face.

There is no need to avoid bright pink eyeshadow, ladies. It is a warm color that can pop any eye color. I tend to only brush it on my lid, then use a deeper color (this time I chose a warm brown) to keep it from looking like a five year old in her mother's makeup. Then match the pink shade on your lips and cheeks. (i.e. don't use peach lipstick or blush). I put a lighter shade from the same pink family on my lips and there you have it.

Makeup Photo a Day Five: Doll Lashes

mollie booth parks, makeup photo a day, every day makeup, day time makeup, doll lashes

Though the humidity usually makes my lower lashes smudge, today I decided I wanted "doll lashes". I hold my mascara wand vertically and rub it deeper in certain places [just on the bottom lashes] to create a thicker, doll-like like lash affect. Other than that, I kept my makeup quite basic and pinky toned to keep me looking alive in this weather.
