Makeup Photo a Day Four: Rainy Day Makeup
The sloppy, grey weather is the culprit behind this lovely face. Thankfully, five undivided minutes with Mr. Amazing did the trick to cheer me up.
On nasty days I take the initiative to look good in order to feel good throughout the day. For this I splashed on my favorite red zin lipstick [it's much berry-er than the photo lets on] and took extra care with my eyebrows. Voila! That's all it takes.
<<Also be sure and put on a face primer as your makeup is prone to sweating off in the humidity>>
What do you do when the weather is uppity?

One Piece Multiple Ways: How to Wear Your Boyfriend/Husband's Shirt
This is one of Nik's shirts. I want this shirt. Now this shirt can look like my own. There!
If you do work in an office or like that classy look, seize your man's shirt and pair it with wide leg trousers and a feminine, sleek belt. And don't forget your bright colored pumps to make it extra ladylike. They'll never know it's HIS shirt.
<<I would like to point out that when I asked Nik to preview this post, he didn't recognize his shirt. I call that success.>>
1. Pairing it with this long sleeve, vintage mini dress, leggings (because this girl DON'T DO minis), and heels can spice up a shirt generally reserved for "officey" situations.
2. Channel your inner [insert glamorous femme] and add a dash of pizzazz with a fur stole, your favorite blousy jacket, leather skirt, and your go to heels for that extra charm. Watch the men's jaws drop, ladies.

Makeup Photo a Day Three: Gold Eyeshadow
Apparently I'm still doing an Indian dance with my makeup in hopes of spring's early arrival. Gold eyeshadow mixed with deeper tones in my crease is a Mollie go-to. Come on spring!!

Makeup Photo A Day Two
I spotted this fun tutorial by a favorite brand Illamasqua and decided to make it today's makeup. I love that their inspiration came from the irregular spots on bird's eggs. Clever!

Makeup Photo A Day
Along with my regular types of posts, I will post a photo (hopefully) every day of my makeup. It's not a tutorial or how-to, just a photo with a short quip about it. This will be a way for me to see the progress I make in techniques and to keep up with my ever changing styles. This was Nik's idea by the way since he pointed out, "Mollie, your makeup is different every day". And that is certainly true.
In an ode to spring and the runway looks I've seen, I chose a bold robin's egg blue liner and contrasting red lips. To keep the look soft, I left my eyebrows natural. Here's to warmer weather!

Graphic Eyeshadow Smokey Eye
I love dramatic makeup. Especially after an intense New York Fashion Week where I wore the most basic daytime makeup. I've gotta have some fun after that!
Rather than a typical heavily blended smokey eye, I went for the graphic line as it, in my opinion, more dramatic. Products used: Wolfe Brothers Face Art & FX Essentials Palette, Bare Minerals Flawless Definition Mascara, Revlon Eyelash Curler, Bare Minerals 'Red Zin' Lipstick, Sephora Kohl Eyeliner
And Nik taught me how to make a GIF. Who's super techy now? So what do you do when it's been a long week?

Blue and Gold [Daytime] Smokey Eyes
I’m fond of playing up my
eyes with makeup for daytime especially during the winter months when my
precious fair skin becomes well, lackluster. My face needs color and daytime smokey
eyes are just the key. Sweeping a bright gold on the center of my lids gave it
a pop, then I mixed shades of blue and grey to get the affect I’m wearing here.
It’s sultry and fun! Who says only black works for smokey?

Long Sleeve Printed Dress [Downton Abbey Inspired]
This thrifted dress makes me feel like
Lady Mary of Downton Abbey. Maybe that’s the reason I put my hair in a bun as
well. How often does one find a long sleeve dress these days? Actually the coat and the gold brooch are thrifted lovelies as well.
And the fur stole belonged to my grandmother, adding to the vintage nostalgia
of this romantic outfit. Now all I need is an English garden in which to stroll.
[Warmer weather would have to be on the menu too. It was 28 degrees when I shot
this. Yikes!]
